"I learned a LOT from this training! It will definitely inform how I approach working with clients with OCD and PTSD."
OCD and PTSD can have some shared features and often co-occur. This course will go over differential diagnosis, case examples, and treatment considerations. June 28th, 2024 Noon-3:30 PM Eastern.
Access to course materials (including Zoom link) will open one week before training.
Description:
PTSD co-occurs in approximately 25% of those with OCD. OCD occurs in approximately 31-41% of those with PTSD. It's important that OCD specialists and trauma specialists both have an understanding of the other condition. This course will go over symptoms that can look similar in each condition and how to address them. We will also discuss how OCD and PTSD can interfere in the treatment of the other condition. We will touch on implications for ERP and take a deeper dive into implications for I-CBT. We will also discuss clinical judgment points on when to focus on PTSD or when to focus on OCD as the primary condition and how to know when to pivot treatment between the two.
